BangPop! presents the fifth annual Kid Central Festival in Downtown Bangor on Saturday, May 2. With the help of local businesses, museums, and other arts and non-profit organizations, families will enjoy a wealth of fun and free activities both indoors and outside. From art projects to tie dying, face painting to building your own cannoli, there are activities for everyone ages 12 and under. Kid Central Festival begins at 10 am until 3 pm and full schedule information will be available soon.
Special guest Maine author/illustrator Chris Van Dusen is returning to the festival this year and will read from his beloved children’s books as well as autograph copies. Many more great activities are planned throughout the day including the annual Superhero Costume Contest, chalk art and Box City cardboard building blocks.
Begin the day at Kid Central Headquarters, located at Bagel Central, 33 Central Street, where you can pick up a Kid Central activity map to help you on your way. Some of the other businesses offering activities include: the Rock and Art Shop, Bangor Public Library, Good Soul, The Briar Patch, Central Street Farmhouse, Bangor Symphony Orchestra and more!
All activities are free to the public and designed for children ages 12 & under.
