Peter and Wendy10:30 AM
Second Star to the Right
Norumbega Parkway
Some Theatre Company brings a preview of their latest production, Peter/Wendy, to Kid Central Festival!

Peter is the mischievous hero unwilling to grow up. Wendy is the girl awoken in the middle of the night ready to escape into a world of fantasy. Adventure is awaiting those who are able to let go of reality and listen to the child within. All it takes is a happy thought and they lift you up into the air and onto adventure. In this lyrical, atmospheric interpretation of Peter Pan, Jeremy Bloom strips the familiar story down to its emotional essence and pays homage to J.M Barrie’s darker themes. Its commitment to the purest elements of theatre is refreshing, and commendable as it engagingly explores the questions of innocence, friendship, family and loss that have made the story a classic for more than a century. Watch as a cast of strangely sweet and sweetly strange characters re-tell the tale as you’ve never encountered it before.

Peter and WendySome Theatre Company seeks to inspire, stimulate and promote interest in the theatrical arts within our community, while offering a professional and supportive environment for both adults and children of varying ages, cultures and levels of theatrical experience.

Body Painting with Henna
Mexicali Blues
The art of body painting with henna has been practiced for over 5000 years in Pakistan, India, Africa, and the Middle East. Because henna has natural cooling properties, it originally was applied as a paste to soothe overheated hands and feet. When the stain then faded away, it naturally left patterns on the skin surface. This eventually led to the idea of using henna to make designs for decorative purposes, which is how we usually rock it today! Ages 5 and up.
